Compliance Role in Harpenden (£25,000 to £35,000pa)

Accomplish Today are working on behalf of an esteemed employer who are looking to recruit an experienced Compliance Officer to support the group with compliance activity such as GDPR protection, risk management, policy and contract management. You will work closely supporting the Compliance Director, whilst engaging with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will have proven demonstrable experience working in a similar Compliance role and have the ability to confidently handle data in Excel. This is a full-time office based role working in an outstanding office environment. The working hours are Monday to Friday 9am until 5pm with half hour lunch.


Role and responsibilities:

As a Compliance Officer you will support the Senior Management team to ensure the company compliance functions are regularly monitored, and ensuring departments are identifying and mitigating risks

Remain up to date with relevant legal and regulatory developments in relation to compliance and provide support to the business on data protection related matters such as record management and information governance.

  • Support with reviewing compliance, including reviewing of applicable policies and procedures and where appropriate assisting with writing new policies and procedures

  • Update and maintain documentation such as the Supplier Code of Conduct and Privacy Statements

  • Support with organising internal departments to complete Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIAs)

  • Ensure all data subject requests relating to their legal rights are undertaken and completed within set time frames

  • Act as a point of contact for information governance queries and escalate or signpost as required

  • Oversee the process and implementation of record retention and destruction policy across the business

  • Maintain and update supplier details onto a contracts management system

  • Internally liaise with Legal to ensure contracts and T&Cs comply with legislative requirements and track contracts are in place Any other duties required by the business to ensure their remain compliant with applicable laws and regulations Skills and experience required:

  • Proven work history within a compliance, risk management or contract management role essential

  • Knowledgeable of GDPR Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work accurately in a fast paced environment adhering to deadlines

  • Strong knowledge and confident user of Excel in particular pivot tables and macros

  • Numerate with high levels of attention to detail
